are a small home based business that has generated

that state's website for forms and information on setting
up your DBA, Tax Numbers, filing paperwork and getting
free help. Most states include a downloadable PDF
instruction booklet that outlines the exact process and tells you
the forms you need to file. They will also usually have a
toll free number that you can call for more information. Many of the state programs also have advisors that you can meet with for free.

support these state agencies and they are there to help you.
Do not get suckered into buying a startup package from an
outside source that may not have correct information when
the correct and current information is available for free.
Keep in mind that each
state and every municipality have different laws and
requirements, so reference your state website directly
rather than taking general knowledge from online bloggers
about the legal aspects of business. Taking advice from
the wrong person can get you in legal trouble and land
your business in the trash can before you even get
started.
It's not that
difficult to get started and in most cases you can set everything up in
one day. You can open a bank account and be a legit business when
you wake up the next morning.
